Reflection

This project was not so easy to tackle for me because in the initial stages, I was stuck on my previous experience with class projects that involved remediation and remixing the text to make your own original work. Once I grasped the purpose of the actual assignment, which was to analyze the original article, I realized the implication of this seemingly simple video that only asked one question of several strangers.

When I finally found my argument, the project came a lot easier to me. I really liked the positive nature of the original media project by Cullen and that's what drew me to it initially. But what I found even more interesting was that a positive goal can only be achieved by taking the time to recognize the problem  (a negative world, the drawbacks of the human condition) that inspired the solution (the question which created the video project). By confronting the issue, Cullen made an effort towards changing it. This idea is what sparked my thesis for the assignment.

Peer review was helpful to me as far as my dreadful initial organization, where the essay only existed on one page. For web text, the way it is presented on a screen really impacts how effective the argument is, not just the actual essay itself. As always, I wish I were more technologically savvy to be able to do different things with my media projects but I believe that my presentation is effective and is a thorough discussion of the implications of Cullen's original project.
